Whirlwind

I am finally back to my home. It is so wonderful to be sitting in front of my pellet stove, Olive on the couch beside me. I have been in Colorado Springs, Dallas, San Antonio, Dallas and back to Denver to fly home. Unfortunately, getting in and out of Gunnison is a bit difficult.

My fabulous daughter, Shelby, ran her first Marathon. It was so hot and so humid...and she finished it. She has a determination that is beyond anything I have ever seen. She is also a bit bull headed. She gets that from her father! I love her and really am always amazed at what she accomplishes. Yea Shelby!

I am headed to Horseshoe Bay for Thanksgiving. Everyone will be there. I am looking forward to it. I am planning to get everything done here and freezing it - then off it will go with me to HSB.
I love cooking for my family...we have rented a house out there, the kids plan to walk the Turkey Trott - I think Liz might also. I have a great excuse to sit in a car with my dr. pepper and watch - I have to be in shape to cook! ha

Everyone have a great day!

Indian Summer

Olive and I have enjoyed a couple of absolutely fabulous days. The sun is out, the sky is an incredible blue. We are really enjoying this weather. I know it will be short lived. We have already had a major snow storm - Monarch Pass had about 2-3 feet on it the other day as I was driving over.

I am loving the mornings, but I have always loved mornings. Growing up I had my best friend give me one rule. Never ever call before 9am on a Saturday morning. To keep the peace, I did just that. I can remember tapping my toe waiting for 9!

The sun is just waking up here. Silhouettes of the trees are beginning to form with the light touch of white/blue behind them. It is Cold! Everything is frost kissed. What a morning!

I received my first "tooth" yesterday. I have horrid teeth, and seems like I have been on this road of trying to figure out what to do with these really obstinate choppers. I have been through cavities, braces, crowns, root canals, and now implants. I wish I could have just started with the implants! It was so much less painful than anything I have done to this point. When all is said and done, I will have a total of 3 new teeth. Thinking about just having them do them all! ha!
I don't know anyone who is as hard on their teeth as I have been. Guess I just want to get my monies worth!

Paul is almost finished with the cabin. We keep adding a little bit here and there. I now have wooden screens on all the windows, a freshly stained deck, and a very well sealed home. Should really help for the winter. Funny how the baby poop has made the house blend into the world. You can hardly pick it out while driving down the road - my neighbor had commented that it was really a good camo color! What a perfect fit up here being hunting season and all....

My darling child is running her first marathon in less than two weeks. I am so proud of her. For all of you out there - that is 26 miles. She is completely bull headed (don't know where she got that from -) and has stuck with the training through the heat, rain, now cool weather. No complaining - just running. What a girl!

Hope to all that you have an amazing day!
