shoes make the man er woman

I love shoes. It is a great sickness. Unfortunately it also includes cowboy boots. I have 60 - yes - 60 pairs of boots and counting. I posted this on facebook for intervention but no one really had an answer for my illness. Probably the problem is that I am not listening! I LOVE SHOES!

I go in different directions on style. I love Manolo's and Jimmy Choo. I would love to have a pair of Christian Lobitans' again, you must be able to spell these important words before you can actually acquire these lovelies! Truth be known, I can not walk in high heels. It is true. I either fall out of them or twist my ankles. So not pretty! Shame on me - but I do still love them and have them in my closet.

My favorites are my dansko's and my Merrill's. I love Nike running shoes although I gave up running years ago. This year they came out with the natural leather stacked sandal. We all had them in the '70's. Loved them! Bought them this summer and feel so festive when I have them on!

Colorado is not the place for fancy shoes. I try. When I go to the big cities, Denver or Colorado Springs, I do wear the fancies. All other times I am in my comfort shoes! Promise I will not be into the SAS or those other comfort shoes, well, unless they are happy feet shoes!

Now, my true weakness is cowboy boots. I buy the old ones which means they are used. I had a hard time getting over that fact. To be honest, no one really does boots like they did in the '30's. My collection is varied and very loved! I wear them almost every day. I also collect baby boots. They are hard to find. I love the cut out boots. I have a couple of pairs with longhorns inlaid in them. All the baby boots have the toes curled up. You can just imagine some cowpoke loving these boots and actually wearing them to bed!

Everyone around here is aware of my illness. I have friends that will drop boots that have been so very well worn at my door steps. It is kind of a funny thing. Shelby thinks the boots have overgrown the cabin. Does this mean I should buy a bigger cabin to accommodate my habit?
